deadly ever after

Happy Halloween to all. This past weekend Wade and I went to Logan to visit my brother and his family and to our friends annual murder mystery party. It was really fun with great food. Each person played a different character from a well known story (romeo and juliet, hamlet, Rapunzel ect.)

My niece and nephew wanted me to take a picture of them jumping. My niece wanted to wear my wig and help me get ready for the party. It was fun hanging out with them.
Here is my nephew as Darth Vader and me (Snow White) he just turned 6 and is pretty awesome.
Here are our hosts Tessa (Wicked Witch of the West), Mason (skeleton) and Bryce (Sherlock Holmes)
Here are Katie (little red riding hood) and Paul ( Hamlet) look at his i phone.. he has a skeleton on it.. very clever

Bryce and Steven (Prince Charming) are pretty close...friends?

Ronelle as Rapunzel

Wade as Robin Hood and Eric as Long John Silver
little mason

Kevin as the Mad Hatter (yes that is his real hair) and Kali as Alice

Cute wade..
I seriously cannot take a good picture!

I like hanging out with this little guy

And his mama of course =)

i am so proud of myself.

Meet my project. This side table was taken (by wade) from Wade's parents when we first got married. It was tired, it did not have any handles and it had some chips and scuffs. I was inspired by two blogs I look at "opal never shouts" and Blue cricket design and thought "I can make this look a lot better." So I decided to sand paint and antique it by sanding the edges and put a bit of stain on it. I also went to downeast and bought the handle for $2. It took me maybe 2 hours of work and maybe $7 in supplies. Here are the before and after pictures.
Here is an up close of the antiquing.

I love my friends

I has been really fun living here in our new home. Wade and I have starting hanging pictures and getting the last of the decorating done. I miss living in Midvale but have not felt lonely yet because of all the friendly neighbors and all the support from friends and family.. In the last week and a half we have had someone come visit 5 of 10 days. We had Ash and the kids come up last Wednesday, Mom, Dad, Forrest, Anna and Tom here Friday-Sunday, Jenny and Jaden on Monday and Steven, Ronelle and Dexter up Monday evening for games. Could we be more blessed? I think not. Here are some pictures from when ash came up. If you want to check out some more go to my photo blog. Tata!
And then there was the costume box.... First Grayson was a pirate and Madison was a dancer/ballerina
Then Grayson was a superhero.. or a rock star.. I like either look but he liked the super hero best. We had a great time.

Our house... in the middle of our street...

Can't you just hear that song right now? if not here is a blerb of it.

So we are all moved in( not all unpacked but moved it=)) and we even got banana bread twice this week. (Thank you Ash for coming to visit me today I will post some pictures from her visit later.) We are so excited to have our own space. It is so much fun. We met our neighbors and they seem really nice (how could they not be nice they brought us warm banana bread) Here is a video tour of our place. I will also post some pictures too so you all can see it.

Thank you again to all who helped us move. It was amazing how quick everything went. We love you and appreciate you all so much.

Dear Blanche and other things

"Other things" first... we are home owners! We closed yesterday and are so excited. Wade hurt his back and can't help move anything too big (convenient timing..j/k)So we are grateful for all our friends and family that are coming to help us. We will post pictures of the new place when we are settled. This past week I have been packing up things and getting really nostalgic about our little place that we have resided for 3+years. This is the longest I have lived anywhere since leaving home for college. I have loved this place, the pool the beautiful trees and most importantly meeting so many wonderful people. Wade and I have shared so many great memories here. I will be sad to leave but I am excited to have a home of our very own. Anyways enough of that...We will still come back and visit often.

So on to Blanche.... oh that nasty mean Blanch, not this one... but this one. So Thursday two weeks ago I decided I had not been to the Gym and really worked my legs so I gave them a beating. Friday (the next day) Wade and I went on an overnight hike to Lake Blanche. I am a stupid girl for working out so hard the day before. Blanche is not an easy hike. It is about 3.32 miles to the top and an elevation gain of about 2668 feet. It was like being on a stair stepper for 3.5 hours. I feel bad because I know Wade could have gone much more quickly by himself or with a less wussy partner... but oh well. For the last mile of switchbacks I said things in my head that even my WW2 sailor Grandfather would have blushed at. We made it to the top and saw Blanche and it was all worth it. It was a beautiful lake and we seemed to be the only overnighters. You can see SLC in the distance and the sunset was wonderful. We had a great time haveing beef stroganoff and jerky for dinner and watching the stars pop out. We left in the early-ish morning and made it down in about an hour and a half. Dear Blanche you charmed me with your mystic moss and beautiful breezes, we will come visit again soon.. or maybe next year depending on the weather, Love Brianna

Here are some of our pictures from our trip

Here are some pictures I found on my camera from a different hike to Lake Katherine we did earlier in the summer.
